the busyness of business continues.
been so crazy this month finally got back here to post a new one. hey DEKAL has a site at http://www.garageband.com/artist/dekal
check us out for tracks you may not here on the myspace page. also check us at betarecords.com/dekal and the new subversion site at www.dekaldekal.com
in Arcadia this week man the san gabs r nice in the clear winter air. Palomar rules though. so freaky sites up there plus the STARS ARE SO CLEAR IN RIVERSIDE COUNTY. Interesting thing to note, the name of the newest dekal album is crystal black: highway to the fucking stars-- and don't you know the road going up Palomar to the observatory is called the 'highway to the stars '... providence once again, just being where i am supposed to be.
anyway web based applications are making some fantastic inroads including the youos and other awesome Ajax apps, all hail the return of the mainframe. it is interesting because IBM is coming out blazing on the mainframe with Linux admin go baby big blue go! say good bye to the blade server unless of course you want to host your own server, but i say the mainframe cost will be so competitive you won't want the hassle of admin'ing yr own blade when renting the space and services on a big blue or Hitachi or Fujitsu mainframe will be cheaper... hey which brings me back full circle to
COBOL.
ya COBOL... you heard me right now if i could only get the fucking gcc compiler to compile and link a COBOL source code I'd be made in the shade, but i don't want to fork out the cash for some big expensive software solution... HELP!! is there anything besides tiny COBOL or opencobol? any comments would be appreciated.. and that means maybe micro soft could bring back a better console than the one in XP, haven't check vista but tiger osx has a decent UNIX console for command line c'mon MS get with it.
on the biological and fanless front. Samsung with the flash hard drive 32 gb baby yeah, now if they can make it cheap enough so schmucks like me can put them into our laptops. oi. anyway i like the new chip outta Georgia tech.. 450 gig!!! wow; but it also had to be keep at like 10 degrees kelvin... can we say outer space cold? silicon-germanium... hmmm anyone got germanium stock options? who mines this shit anyways...
guess its the changing paradigm on the processor front. talking with a friend last week and we agree the architecture will change to support specialised multiple cores. can we say XBOX/ps3. yup, that thing yr kids are twiddling is the model being tested right now on the young minds of this planet. what a beta test platform. have billions of children run trillions of lines of code by playing games to test a platform. someone was thinking... just don't know if it was Sony or the whole consortium certainly smells of Microsoft's idea of testing ...have the guinea pigs run the programs...
hey did i mention i am not paid for my opinions AND everything in this blog is just an opinion... this blog is certainly not quotable science and expresses the mere ravings of a lunatic...
whew...
also why is Sony in the spellcheck but Samsung isn't? hey google fix that please....
